I am good friends with a doctor who offers some "aesthetic procedures." He says it helps some women feel more confident in a society that is obsessed with visual perfection. I guess he helps them in the only way he can. I'm just glad I'm an editor. No one gets morally outraged about the times I tummy-tuck sentences--except the writers themselves.
