Say “NO” to President-elect Obama’s “yes” to Planned Parenthood

Nov 12

The Senate version of FOCA

The House Version of FOCA

FOCA Would Wipe Away Every Restriction on Abortion Nationwide

This would eradicate state and federal laws that the majority of Americans support, such as:

  • Bans on Partial Birth Abortion
  • Requirements that women be given information about the risks of getting an abortion
  • Only licensed physicians can perform abortions
  • Parents must be informed and give consent to their minor daughter’s abortion

FOCA would erase these laws and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future.

Barack Obama is now the incoming President. And he made a promise to Planned Parenthood last year they expect him to keep.

“The first thing I’d do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing I’d do.”

SIGN THE PETITION [and see video of President-elect Obama's promise] HERE

How can you NOT love LSU!

Nov 11

The game is tied with just under three minutes left, and LSU is about to get the ball with a chance to win. The band knows just the song.

Tommy used to work on the docks.

The student section explodes.

When the band gets to the chorus, they are singing along—and it is loud. They are part of the largest crowd ever at this place, and their Tigers are hanging in against the top ranked team in the country, maybe about to send Nicky-Nicky Bling-Bling home a loser.

We gotta hold on
To what we got
It doesn’t make a difference
If we make it or not
We got each other
And that’s a lot
For love
We’ll give it a shot

Ooooooh, we’re halfway there
Ooooooh, living on a prayer …

The COUNTERSCRIPT…telemarketing the telemarketer

Nov 09

copyright ©1994-now EGBG - martijn engelbregt

The Direct Marketing sector regards the telephone as one of its most successful tools. Consumers experience telemarketing from a completely different point of view: more than 92% perceive commercial telephone calls as a violation of privacy.
Telemarketers make use of a telescript - a guideline for a telephone conversation. This script creates an imbalance in the conversation between the marketer and the consumer. It is this imbalance, most of all, that makes telemarketing successful. The EGBG Counterscript attempts to redress that balance.

Good luck!

Having a turkey vs. being a turkey

Fall Extreme

I checked the calendar to count the number of days until Thanksgiving Day.

Then, I felt like a real turkey when God checked my calendar to remind me that every day is a day of thanksgiving.

Things that make you say, “HUH?!”

Nov 05

Only in Louisiana:

If you’re in the race for a seat in Congress, you would want to avoid:

  1. federal corruption charges
  2. already being an ineffective incumbent
  3. keeping $90K in [marked]cash in your freezer in separate food containers
  4. being linked to bribery schemes
  5. having siblings indicted in federal corruption cases

And the answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE because if you’re U.S. Rep. William Jefferson you can still win in the Democratic Party runoff.

Michelle Narciso Rodriguez Dress

Read about Michelle Obama’s fashion statement. The dress is from designer Narciso Rodriguez’s Spring 2009 collection. Dresses in this collection can cost between $1,500 and $3,000.  [Not that anyone's interested anymore in wardrobe costs for today's women in politics].
