Why I keep teaching. . .

Filed under: Issues — Christa Allan @ 6:51 pm

STUDENT GEMS:

1. “I love reading books because you can enter someone’s world completely unnoticed.”

2. Why would anyone title a book Obama Nation? When you say it kinda fast, it sounds like “abomination.”

3. I went to that website you told us about. It wasn’t on my computer.

    Christa,

I enjoy peeking on your website and now am de-lurking to say that I just posted a funny teaching vignette on my website too. :) Isn’t teaching grand?

The first comment above is so right on. The second is priceless…what did you say by way of response? And the third sounds so student-like, so self-focused: it wasn’t on my computer, therefore it doesn’t exist. Heh.

I teach elementary music. You can imagine the funny things those kids say. Second grade seems to be prime time for sharing, and boy…do I hear some interesting family tidbits. :)

    Gwen:
On my way to your site. Glad you delurked. I think I said something about why it’s important to hear your words on paper and not just see them…SECOND GRADE??? OMG. I so admire you!
